Higher education Trailblazers from across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) unite! We’re proud to announce the launch of the 2021 Salesforce.org EMEA Higher Education Advisory Council (HEAC).
Top change agents and innovators representing 17 institutions spanning 11 nations have joined together to empower our entire higher ed community through CRM technology and an increasingly-important need for digital transformation.
Peter Theunert, HEAC vice-chair and head of process digitization at Bucerius Law School, says that now is a critical time to collaborate across the industry. “It is now more important than ever that a forum for exchange on best practices and solutions for student success and lean management structures in higher ed is relevant.”
HEAC members, who were selected through an open call for nominations, generously volunteer their time to focus on important areas, like:
- Fostering and growing a welcoming and inclusive Salesforce higher education community
- Sharing their expertise and wisdom to benefit others through writing, storytelling, presentations, and community outreach
- Collaborating on special initiatives to guide success for other institutions
- Advising Salesforce.org in shaping products and services to serve the unique needs of the region
The goal of the group is to find ways for the Salesforce.org community to best serve higher education institutions from across the EMEA region. To achieve this, the Council meets biweekly online, and in person (when permissible) at Salesforce education events. The cohort covers topics across the entire student experience and the multi-faceted operations of a university. Members meet regularly with Salesforce.org leaders and staff, offering insight into the higher education industry and its needs.
Last month, the HEAC convened to kick off initiatives for 2021. Themes focused on innovation and community impact.

Sergio Saldaña Prieto, HEAC secretary and head of digital evolution at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, says members of the council met for the past year to build a group that will impact education and the societies they serve. “It has been together, sharing and supporting each other, that we have built this amazing group during this time. A generous group of individuals with great spirit to create the EMEA trailblazer community that HEAC is meant to be,” Prieto says.
HEAC members are united in their passion for solving meaningful challenges in higher education with cutting-edge technology, and deploying the multiplying force of community to enable others to thrive.
