We’ve already told you about conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall and Grammy award-winner Leslie Odom Jr. headlining our first-ever Nonprofit Summit. But if you’re still on the fence about whether or not to join us for the nonprofit event of the year on April 21, we put together a list of the top seven reasons why you should absolutely, definitely be there.

1. You’ll learn how Nonprofit Cloud can increase your organization’s social impact.

The pandemic revealed the importance of having a strong digital infrastructure in place to weather storms, seamlessly run your entire mission, and set you up for future growth. Not only will the upcoming Nonprofit Summit offer you insight into best practices for nonprofit technology built on the world’s number one CRM, you’ll get a sneak peek at exciting new Nonprofit Cloud features and upcoming product offerings.

2. You’ll hear directly from inspiring Salesforce.org customers.

We have some really incredible nonprofit customers, and we’re excited to hand the virtual stage over for some of them to share valuable insights into their work and how they use Nonprofit Cloud to do it. In our Thought Leadership Spotlight, we’ll be hosting a conversation about organizational resilience and embracing a digital-first future.

As we gain perspective following a year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll use this opportunity to reflect on what we’ve learned, and how to use those lessons to prepare us for the future. This panel discussion will explore the digital strategies and paradigms that leaders are using today to propel their people processes and technology to become digital-first and achieve greater impact in the post-COVID era.

Panel participants for our international audience include:

  • Hanna Thomas, Principal Consultant, Align
  • Jon Townsend, Chief Information Officer, National Trust
  • Jennifer Morgan, Executive Director, Greenpeace International

Panel participants for our American audience include:

  • Joan Garry, Principle, Joan Garry Consulting
  • Mary Nemerov, Chief Philanthropy Officer, California Academy of Arts and Sciences
  • Jarrod Bell, Chief Information Officer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
  • Trovon Williams, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, NAACP

“I’m looking forward to the session, Amplifying Underrepresented Voices in Tech. With everything going on right now, it’s important to remember that people need to be seen and heard.” – Gordon Lee, CommonSense.org

3. Our mainstage will feature celebrity speakers, musical performances, and more.

You’ve probably already read about Dr. Jane Goodall’s appearance for The Power of Hope: A Conversation with Dr. Jane Goodall, and Leslie Odom, Jr.’s performance on our global mainstage to connect our worldwide attendees through the power of music.

But we’re thrilled to announce a third Summit headliner: Amal Clooney. Clooney is a globally recognized, high-powered barrister in the field of international human rights and criminal law. When she’s not representing political prisoners, journalists, and victims of mass atrocities around the world, she co-teaches the Human Rights course at Columbia Law School, and serves as co-founder and President of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which aims to advance justice through accountability for human rights abuses around the world. She will be interviewed by our own Ebony Beckwith, Executive Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer at Salesforce.

4. You’ll be inspired by leading nonprofit organizations from around the world.

With over 30 sessions across four unique content tracks, you’re guaranteed to find a wide range of thought-provoking discussions, practical takeaways, and actionable best practices from your industry peers. The best part? You’ll have first-hand access to speakers for questions. All speakers will be answering questions after the session airs, so make sure you build your schedule ahead of time!

Session tracks include: increasing fundraising agility, improving the constituent experience, optimizing data and reporting, and managing and scaling your platform. Speakers represent globally-recognized organizations, like Gavi, International Justice Mission, Unicef, Teach for America, CDC Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, and more.

“I’m most excited to talk about how our digital transformation wasn’t led by technology, but by people invested in our mission. In our work, getting the people who were motivated by Urban Institute’s values on board, regardless of their technical background, and investing heavily in their skills in a narrow but highly impactful set of technologies, has been the key to our success.” – Graham MacDonald, Urban Institute

“Teach for America’s mission of strengthening the movement for educational equality and excellence is so important. They need to be able to communicate that mission in a standardized and efficient way. This can be made difficult when you have over 50 regional offices. We’re so excited to be joining Teach for America as we explore how they were able to accomplish this roll out strategy, ultimately creating a unified experience for their members and alumni. I’m most excited about the Marketing Cloud demo, where we’ll show you just how we were able to accomplish this standardized communication with Salesforce.” – Jordan Gill, Cloud for Good

From our Trailblazer Capsule to on-platform networking — including roundtable discussions and other activations — you will be able to connect with industry peers from all over the world. For example, braindate sessions will allow people to connect over zoom in live one-on-one or one-on-few calls to discuss topics that interest them.

“I’m so excited to be attending the first-ever Nonprofit Summit for the global nonprofit community. A unique, unparalleled platform for nonprofit folks from across the globe where they can come together and share, is surely giving me some goosebumps. Thinking about Nonprofit Summit, I’m looking forward to the amazing content, conversations, success stories, and to hear from the best from our nonprofit ecosystem. And of course, looking forward to networking. I congratulate our Salesforce.org team for hosting this event and I’ll be cheering alongside.” – Akash Mishra, New Delhi User Group Leader
